Ben Durgin

The Durgin family history reaches back at least 600 years, when Seamus Durgin helped found the city of Occam. Since then, Durgins have served Dunhill as mayors, admirals, judges, warlords, and smiths. Ben's family forms a long line of master smiths dating back to antiquity. The name Durgin Steel still indicates a high quality product even today.

Ben apprenticed at his father's forge, but he left home at age 18 to find his fortune. He had several adventures with the rapier and short sword he forged, and he got very good at wielding two blades before deciding to settle down in Fellport. He makes a living at his shop Sticks and Stones selling mundane creations: picks, axes, eating knives, pitchforks, chain, hammers, files, lanterns, and the odd wagon wheel. He still has a passion for forging fighting blades, and he plays with new designs and innovations when he has time.

Ben loves a challenge, whether figuring out a new blade design or finding and competing in an underground fight. He will take on any custom job or any blade duel that comes his way. He takes his reputation quite seriously, but he downplays his family name in favor of focusing on his own achievements. He hasn't reached 30 years old yet, so his sandy hair remains ungrayed. His sea-green eyes might indicate some Aquatic Elf blood in his family tree, but his rugged good looks speak exclusively of his human ancestors.
