Ahktu

Ahktu grew up on the southern coast of the Middle Sea. He spent much of his youth helping humans along the coast of what is now Andalusia, wandering from area to area without ever setting down roots. He was especially busy keeping the Ionian legions in check as they conquered new people and occupied lands. He spent most of his adulthood traveling the world and helping people overcome oppression wherever he went. He flew over the Blue Abyss and spent years among the islands, learning harmony with nature and the joy of simple purpose as part of a fishing boat's crew. He flew on across jungles, deserts, and another ocean before learning self-reflection in the mountain monasteries of the Yamagura Empire.

When the call came to head to Dragon Peak and leave the humanoid realm, he obeyed, coercing other dragons along the way to come with him. Many other dragons regard him as a straight shooter, if not an outright friend. Many owe him favors or life debts, but he never intends to collect. Ahktu believes if everyone focuses on making themselves the best they can be, then injustice and iniquity will perish from the face of Beneterra.

During his centuries in Drausk (the pocket plane created and maintained by dragons), he spent years focused on perfecting his humanoid form, exploring using that body as a weapon both underwater and on land. Ahktu developed the Way of the Ascendant Dragon style, and he intends to teach others the ways of discipline, self-control, and justice. He volunteered to help Fellport repel the Ionian invasion, hearkening back to memories of his early years on the southern shores of the Medimare. He's looking for a home and possibly land he can turn into a monastery somewhere close to Fellport.

Ahktu's bronze scales haven't tarnished with age, though some of their edges have faded to almost a platinum hue. Some say he inherited a piece of Bahamut's essence, especially given his eternal willingness to help any underdog. He gladly gives rides as needed, easily carrying 2 or 3 humans seated on his shoulders just in front of his wings. When dealing with people, he greatly prefers his humanoid form.

Ahktu's humanoid form looks like an older, deeply tanned Islander man (think Māori) wearing simple shorts pushed down by his ample belly and a leather vest with no shirt nor shoes. Tattoos cover his wide arms and chest, and circle both of his substantial calves. He looks like he should waddle around, but he moves with surprising and graceful ease. He wears his wavy brown hair down to his shoulders, and his brass-colored eyes always gleam with a hint of humor or mischief. He enjoys exploring the world and finding new experiences, and he laughs at nearly everything. He can't hide his charismatic aura, making him stand out in a crowd despite his otherwise normal appearance.
