The Rumor Mill - Week 3

I love this cheat-to-win thing. Coming up with one rumor in a day and adding it to a draft can take me a whole 5 minutes. Of course last week I had to crash-create all 8 rumors on Sunday. coming up with the title for the next Cochrane Ironcalf book took the longest, to be honest. Totally worth the time invested, if you ask me. Everything still worked out and I got 8 bits of lore published on schedule, so I'm ridiculously happy about that.

Onward to week 3. I'm still mining some of my #City23 entries to see what sort of misinformation makes sense to pass on to the unsuspecting party. Some of these actually came up during play, which I like.

The Rumor Mill - Week 2

It turns out I love a footnote. Most rumors will have a grain of truth to them, but the pearl it creates from that grain gets lopsided, discolored, and just plain different. A little explanation goes a long way, so rather than skirting the line between True and Sorta-True with a single word, I'm going to keep doing footnotes for everything. EVERYTHING. Yes, it makes entries harder to read, but I want to capture nuance for some of these ideas.

Here we go with week 2. These rumors can be heard on the streets and many bars in Fellport, as it serves a wide variety of people from across the world.

The Rumor Mill - Week 1

Everyone can use a few rumors to spice things up and add some cultural color, so I'll gather 8 of them every week and try to theme them together. That should give me over 400 rumors by the end of the year, if I keep up with it every week. I think it's a really easy lift for me to crank out an 8-rumor table weekly on a Sunday, and it'll technically cover any gaps since I'm writing 8 tiny things every 7 days. Win!

Now to see if anyone produces a d52 so I can hook all of these together...
