Winter Is Coming: Participant Sign-Up Page

If you would like to participate in the Winter Is Coming RPG Blog Festival, please leave a comment below. Please include the following information:

Name: (The name by which you'd like to be referred. Alias, nickname, or twitter handle welcomed.)
Twitter Handle: (Optional - You may put a URL here instead if you want - an about.me or personal profile page would work.)
Blog Name: (The name of your site you want people to see. If you don't have one, that's cool.)
URL: (Your blog or whatever site you want to be linked. Article URLs will come later.)
Area of Submission: (A one-word description of  what you're writing about, like "Race" or "Adventure". Multiple submissions are OK, just note each.)
System: (Something like "D&D 4E" if specific or "Any" if usable anywhere.)
Title: (The working title of your article(s). Try to be specific. Actual article titles will be used when submitted.)
Guest/Linked: (Use "Guest" if you want me to publish your article as a Guest Blogger. Use "Linked" if you'll publish on your site and I'll make a link to the article. I hope to have icons for each.)

Here's a clean list of what I'm looking for to copy and paste into the comments.

If I were submitting, my comment would look like this:

Name: T.W.Wombat
Twitter Handle: @twwombat
Blog Name: Wombat's Gaming Den of Iniquity
URL: http://gamerblog.twwombat.com
Area of Submission: Monster
System: D&D 4e
Title: Icicle? No, Ice Piercer!
Guest/Linked: Guest

I'm going to try and read everything submitted so I can include a little blurb on your entry. Entries will probably appear something like this:
(Anyone have a decent Guest Blogger Icon out there I can use? Google-fu only gets me so far...)
(No, I'm not writing up a winter-flavored Piercer. It's just an example.)

I'll compile participants in this spreadsheet so people can more easily check out other entries. I would encourage people submitting something with a similar title or submitting to the same area to touch base with each other to steer clear of duplication, especially in a focused area like "Terrain". Maybe a grand collaboration will come out of that initial contact - who knows?

Here's the current spreadsheet:

Before Signing Up, Be Thou Warned:
1) I reserve the right to play Editor on Guest Posts and to delete links to crap articles. I won't publish any changes without author approval.
2) Bring your best to this festival. You're showing off your work to the world. I'm sure "ICE DRAGGINZ IS AWESUM!" works for your friends, but consider that someone out there wants to use your work in their game. Let them. Please keep your writing focused, readable, clean and tight.

Once you sign up, grab a logo and put it on your site somewhere. Fly your festival colors, or black-and-whites as the case may be.

DEADLINE for participant sign-ups will be Noon Eastern Time on Thursday, 22 September 2011. Anyone signing up after that date may or may not be included on the main page for sanity reasons. It's gonna be a busy festival for this Wombat, so please be patient.

DEADLINE for articles depends on how much work I need to do. If you want to be a guest blogger and have me publish your article I'll want it sometime on Friday for the start of the festival, but I'll need it by Monday 26 September or I may not have time to read and format it. If you're publishing your article on your site I'll want the link as soon as you publish, and I'll need your link by Thursday 29 September at the latest. To submit, please follow the instructions and leave a comment on the Submission Page so I can keep my workflow organized.

If you're late with your article, don't sweat it. Life happens; I get that. I don't maintain a black list for bloggers who are late or anything like that. Get it to me when you can and I'll get it on the site when I can. Fair?

Thanks for your interest!

Matt, I'll be interested in seeing your winter sentinel, since I've got one in the hopper with KQ for their website.

  13. OK, I'm caught up on the spreadsheet through Matt Brenner. That's 13 participants so far.

I think we're going to have some very cool content, pun intended.

  29. Due to time constraints, will be submitting only an adventure: "The Endless Winter", a full adventure for characters of 12th level.

I simply haven't had the time to make maps at full resolution.

  31. Sorry, I think I'm actually going to have to drop out. I suddenly got busy. (Thanks for doing this though - I'm excited to see everyone's contributions when I have a little more time!)
